Content for all

It doesn’t matter how great your content is, if a significant portion of your audience can’t access it. I’m passionate about accessibility, and how we can optimise digital content.

This continues to be quite the voyage of discovery, from learning how visually-impaired users actually use screenreaders, to what a VTT is (essentially, a subtitle) and how to write meaningful alt text and film transcripts.

At Dyson, we’ve implemented accessibility across all of our sites. We’ve hit AA rating, which is a real achievement – globally, some 90% of sites aren’t accessible at all.

We’ve worked with the Google’s Accessibility Lab and several agency partners on ways to improve.

I’m also proud to work on several Change projects, helping push the cause for diversity and inclusion across the business.

The work’s only just started. Through ongoing, strategic work with a diverse team of people, we’ll keep getting better.
